Instagram co-founders announce Artifact, an AI-powered news aggregator

More than four years after leaving Instagram, co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger are back on the market to announce the launch of a new app: Artifact .

The idea behind the app is to create a personalized feed containing selected articles from publishers ranging from major newspapers, such as The New York Times, to texts by small creators from the most diverse niches, with the aim of becoming a kind of “ TikTok for texts .”

What is Artifact?

Artifact is an app that uses artificial intelligence to understand cambodia telegram data  users’ interests and generate a personalized news feed (the more you use the app, the more personalized the algorithm becomes), where you will also soon be able to follow other users and interact with them through comments and direct messages, promoting discussions among your friends.

It is important to note that Artifact’s content will be selected from approved sources, which guarantees you high-quality news and information. The company checks through a fact-checking process before approving them. However, the algorithm can also provide content that the user does not agree with.

The app is now available for Android and iOS, and those interested in trying out Artifact need an invitation but can currently sign up for a waitlist , according to a tweet by Systrom on his personal Blue Bird account.

The platform will eventually be able to display personalized  how technology can facilitate lgpd compliance ads to users who sign up for a free plan, but the app’s team is exploring paid options, such as premium subscriptions.

Inspiration? New competitor?

The idea of the app is not new in the digital market, as Byte Dance — the company that owns TikTok — has an app with the same logic, Toutiao , the largest news aggregator in China with more than 200 million users today and valued at $75 billion.

Artifact also enters the scene considered as a competitor (or a direct attack) to Twitter, recently acquired by Elon Musk .

Regardless, it’s clear that the app was inspired by and captured the best technologies from each platform that are currently successful. An example of this is algorithmic feed prediction, popularized by TikTok and now used by Artifact for text feeds.

Additionally, Systrom tells Platformer that they were c phone number  also inspired by advances in AI, such as Google’s Transformer , which helps computers better understand languages and contexts. ( ChatGPT is an example of an app built on Transformer architecture.)

AI is no longer the future, it is the reality, and with the launch of ChatGPT last year, interest and curiosity about this technology has grown a lot among companies and professionals in the technology and marketing markets.

Therefore, it will be necessary for professionals to be open-minded in order to understand the context in which Artifact will be installed in the market. Being created by two tech giants, it is possible that it will become another application/resource for online community builders and those seeking first-hand content.
